Iranian university professor, Masoud Soleimani, who was jailed by the US authorities, is expected to land in Tehran as Foreign Minister accompanying him.

Iran Press/Europe: Masoud Soleimani who was delivered to Iranian officials in Switzerland on Saturday, left Zurich to return home.

Foreign Minister Zarif who traveled to Zurich, Switzerland, to accompany Professor Soleimani on his much-anticipated return to Iran,  tweeted out a picture of himself and Soleimani in a plane, with the phrase “going home,” Iran Press reported.

In an earlier tweet, Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote, "Glad that Professor Massoud Soleimani and Mr. Xiyue Wang will be joining their families shortly. Many thanks to all engaged, particularly the Swiss government."

Meanwhile, the US President Donald Trump confirmed that Xiyue Wang, who had been held on espionage charges in Iran, had been released.

Soleimani, a 49-year-old Iranian scientist, left Iran on sabbatical last year but was arrested upon arrival in Chicago and transferred to the prison in Atlanta, Georgia for unspecified reasons. 101
