The Pakistani prime minister recently, during his second visit to Tehran, met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani.

After his one-day visit to Iran, Imran Khan traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for meetings and talks with senior Saudi officials.

The Pakistani prime minister had recently said that Islamabad is trying to broker a meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia to ease tensions.

The US military presence in the West Asian region is the main cause of escalating regional tensions.

Recently Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had sent a letter to the heads of member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) and Iraq in which he invited them to collaborate and get involved in Iran’s Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE).

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at the United Nations General Assembly on 25 September, presented the Hormuz Peace Endeavour (HOPE), an initiative aiming to promote peace, stability, progress, and prosperity for all the residents of countries bordering the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.
