France's Minister of Economy and Finance has said Europe is under tremendous pressure from the United States with regards to INSTEX.

Iran Press/Europe: Bruno Le Maire, France's Minister of Economy and Finance, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, admitted that Europe is under tremendous pressure from the United States to scrap INSTEX altogether — short for 'Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges'.

Bruno Le Maire said the Americans are putting a lot of pressure on Europe to scrap INSTEX, a newly set up transaction channel that will allow European companies to continue trading with Iran, despite US sanctions, the RFE reported.

Le Maire also said Iran's decision to reduce its commitments under the JCPOA does not help Europe to trade with Iran. He said Europe will not surrender to Iran's ultimatum. 211/104
