The Foreign Ministry of China announced on Thursday that the country would support the ceasefire agreement between the Hamas Palestinian Resistance movement and the Israeli regime.

Geo Chia Kan, the Spokesman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "China supports the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza and make positive efforts to resume post-war reconstruction.

Geo also expressed hope that the agreement would be effectively implemented to achieve a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

"We also sincerely hope that all relevant parties will take the ceasefire in Gaza as an opportunity to promote peace," he added.

The new ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli regime reached after 15 months of intense conflict, is a significant development.

According to the information leaked from the ceasefire, the agreement will be implemented in three phases over a period of six weeks. Each phase will last 42 days.

The first phase involves the release of 33 Zionist captives held in Gaza, including two Americans. In exchange, 1,000 Palestinian prisoners will be released.

Also, large quantities of humanitarian aid, relief materials, and fuel will be allowed into Gaza to help rebuild infrastructure, including hospitals, clinics, and bakeries.

As with the Israeli regime's aggression, the Israeli forces are supposed to withdraw to the Gaza border, allowing displaced Palestinians to return to their homes.

The agreement has been mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, and aims to bring a halt to the violence and provide much-needed humanitarian relief to the war-hit people of Gaza more than 46,700 of whom have been killed since the Israeli regime's genocidal war on the strip on October 7, 2023.
