Iran Press/America: The fire broke out at around 11 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 4900-block of South Washington Park Court.
A 71-year-old man who was found in cardiac arrest was transported to a hospital and later died, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The man was identified to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Douglas Horne.
The fire started in the man's bedroom, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
