Mahallat (IP) - Iran is hosting the 16th International Stone Exhibition in central Markazi Province, displaying 40,000 tons of construction stones.

Iran PressIran news: Mahallat is the city in which the exhibition is underway; the city enjoys 70 active stone mines with 30 million tons of stone reservoirs. Annually two million tons of marble stones are extracted from these mines.

Over two percent of the domestic need for building stones in the country and 8 percent for the foreign markets are produced in Mahallat, a city of the Markazi province, and the pole of marble production in Iran.

Businessmen active in the stone industry from different parts of the world visit the exhibition to get aware of the latest relevant products and order their needed type of stones. 

The International Stone Exhibition in Mahallat is considered the largest stone exhibition in Iran and the fourth in the world, which is welcomed by visitors every year.
