Defence Minister:

Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Defense Minister said that the ministry has started manufacturing homemade helicopters.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani told reporters on the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday that the defense ministry of Iran has begun the production of homemade helicopters.

Currently, the Shahed 285 is a light attack/reconnaissance helicopter developed in Iran. It was built by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) and was unveiled on May 24, 2009. 

The Minister of Culture also reported about the increase of cinemas in the country, telling the reporters that by next year (Nowruz), the number of cinemas in Iran will reach 900.

Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili said that so far 832 cinemas have been inaugurated in the country.


Still, the Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) told reporters that 5 million Iranians will enjoy optical fiber by December 20. 

Isa Zarepour said that the ICT ministry aims to increase the number to 8 million by the end of the end of the Persian current year.
