Iran Press/Africa: Initially Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, as well as government spokesman, Jean-Emmanuel Ouedraogo became one of the faces of the transitional power in Burkina Faso before his promotion to Minister of State in December 2023.
The new Prime Minister benefits from the confidence of the President of the Transition, who left it to him to announce certain major decisions of his government, including the end of military cooperation with France, the former colonial power, and the expulsion of its ambassador.
Jean-Emmanuel Ouedraogo also successfully managed the organization of major cultural events such as Fespaco (Panafrican Festival of Cinema and Television of Ouagadougou), SIAO (International handicrafts fair of Ouagadougou), SNC (National culture week), and others which strengthened the country's image, impacted by terrorist attacks.Before joining the government, Jean-Emmanuel Ouedraogo was a journalist, editor-in-chief and then director of RTB, the public television.
