IP- The head of the Bahrain Human Rights Association said that the people of his country are strongly opposed to the visit of the President of the Zionist regime to Manama.

Israeli Regime President Isaac Herzog arrived in Manama on Sunday amid widespread protests by the people of Bahrain and was welcomed by the Al-Khalifa regime.

Israel normalized diplomatic relations with Bahrain, UAE, and Morocco two years ago under U.S. sponsorship.

The move sparked Muslims' anger, who called it a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

Bahrain already hosted an Israeli prime minister earlier this year when Naftali Bennett made a two-day visit to Manama. The presidency in Israel is largely a ceremonial post, but Herzog has assumed a more prominent role since there has not been a stable government for several years.

Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came out on top in a parliamentary election earlier this month, the regime's fifth in less than four years, but he has yet to form a government.

According to his office, Herzog's visit was at the invitation of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and he is going to travel to the UAE after visiting Bahrain to meet with the president of this country, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Head of Bahrain Human Rights Association Baqer Darvish told IranPress that many demonstrations were held in different areas of Bahrain in protest against the visit of the head of the Zionist regime to Bahrain and the normalization of relations, and this is even though the security authorities of Bahrain had not issued any permission for the demonstration.

The head of the Bahrain Human Rights Association added that the government of Bahrain provides more diplomatic, political, and even security support to the Zionist regime, and the Zionist regime, in return, helps Bahrain severely suppress the people.

Darvish said different walks of life in Bahrain are against normalizing relations with the Zionist regime.

The head of the Bahrain Human Rights Association announced that the most dangerous plan is for the Zionists to be present in the capital of Bahrain, especially when the head of the Zionist regime arrives.

"Bahraini regime claims religious freedom, but at the same time, it violates the right to religious freedom inside the country and suppresses the Shias, and has banned the Ashura ceremony," added Darwish.
