New York (IP) - The Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran met and talked with the deputy secretary general of the European External Action Service about the relations between Iran and the European Union and the developments related to the sanctions-lifting negotiations.

Iran PressAmerica: According to the Iran Press agency, Ali Bagheri Kani, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs and chief negotiator, met and discussed with Enrique Mora, the deputy secretary general of the European External Action Service and the coordinator of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly session.

Bagheri Kani, who had previously met and talked with the political leaders of three European countries, Germany, France, and Britain, in New York, announced last night (Thursday) about his frank meeting with Enrique Mora, the deputy of Josep Borrell in charge of the foreign policy of the European Union.

In this regard, Iran's political deputy minister of foreign affairs wrote in a message on X social network: "I met with Enrique Mora on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting. We had frank discussions about many areas of Iran-EU relations, including the developments related to the sanctions lifting negotiations."

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran reminded: "Consultations will continue in the future."

Josep Burrell recently met and talked with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting.

Ali Bagheri Kani had previously announced the holding of a meeting with the negotiating parties in the JCPOA and said that on the sidelines of the General Assembly meeting in New York, we have set dates for negotiations with those involved.

Bagheri and Mora held two-day talks in Doha, Qatar, in June this year.
