Iran and Azerbaijan will stage a joint military drill in the Caspian Sea with the slogan of cooperation for peace and friendship.

Iran Press/Iran news: The vessels of the Republic of Azerbaijan have entered Iranian waters to participate in the Caspian Sea Combined Rescue Exercise, hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy.

This exercise, designated as AZIREX 2024, is set to take place today, Monday, under the theme "Cooperation for Peace and Friendship".

 The main phase of the joint Caspian Sea rescue drill, which involves the naval forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, will take place on Monday. Iran’s Northern Naval Fleet will host the drill.

Named AZIREX 2024 and held under the motto “Cooperation for Peace and Friendship,” the exercise aims to strengthen sustainable collective security in the region, expand multilateral cooperation among participating countries, and demonstrate the goodwill and capability of these nations to jointly support peace, friendship, and maritime security.


The event highlights a significant moment in maritime collaboration between Iran and Azerbaijan, reflecting an ongoing effort to enhance bilateral relations amid a backdrop of complex geopolitical dynamics in the region.
