Tehran (IP) - Following the interventionist statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia under the pretext of the so-called supporting the people of Iran and the issue of human rights, the charge d'affaires of the Australian Embassy was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran in the absence of the ambassador of this country.

Iran PressIran news: According to the Iran press news agency, following the interventionist statements of the Australian Foreign Minister under the pretext of so- called-supporting the Iranian people and the human rights issue, as well as the announcement of another round of sanctions against a number of Iranian officials and citizens, the charge d'affaires of the Australian embassy, in the absence of the ambassador of this country, was summoned by the head of the Fourth Department of Asia and the Pacific of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the level of strong protest of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the interventionist words of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia and the aforementioned sanctions was communicated to him.

The chargé d'affaires of the Australian embassy in Tehran said that the basic policy of his country's government is to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and he would communicate the issue of Iran's protest to Canberra as soon as possible.

The interventionist statements of the Foreign Minister of Australia under the pretext of supporting the people of Iran and the issue of human rights, while the country of Australia has an unacceptable case in the field of human rights based on the report of international human rights organizations.
