WHO:

At least 2,000 patients in need of medical evacuation have been trapped in Gaza since the Rafah border crossing was closed, said Rik Peeperkorn, the WHO’s representative in Palestine.

Iran Press/West Asia: “Since May 7, at least 2,000 people have been unable to leave Gaza to receive medical care,” said Peeperkorn, adding that there are at least 10,000 people in urgent need of evacuation and called for more crossings to open to facilitate their exit.

“We need more routes for medical emergency evacuation, we would like to see Kerem Shalom [Karem Abu Salem] and other routes also opened where patients can then be referred to the referral hospitals in East Jerusalem and the West Bank,”

Peeperkorn added.

At least 37,658 people killed and 86,237 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7.
