Iran Press/ Africa: On Wednesday morning, Masoud Pezeshkian, in a meeting with Malik Jao, the Speaker of the Parliament of Mali, strongly condemned the criminal act that led to the martyrdom of Haj Ismail Haniyeh, the Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, who had traveled to Tehran to participate in the swearing-in ceremony, describing such actions contrary to all international conventions and treaties and a sign of the enemies' helplessness and desperation, and emphasized, "Undoubtedly, the resistance of the heroic and oppressed Palestinian nation will continue and these criminal actions will not create a disruption in the Palestinians' determination to assert their rights".
The President further emphasized the necessity of unity and cohesion of Islamic countries in condemning such cowardly and criminal acts.
In another part of this meeting, while appreciating the congratulatory message of the high-ranking officials of Mali, Pezeshkian stressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to strengthen the relations and cooperation between the two countries in the new period and added, "We will try to hold the joint commission of the two countries to examine ways to improve the level of relations as much as possible, especially in the commercial and economic sector, and to implement the agreements".
The president also described the development of parliamentary relations between Iran and Mali as facilitating the process of developing Tehran-Bamako relations and called for more interaction between the parliaments of the two countries in this field.
Mr Malik Jao, the Speaker of the Parliament of Mali, also called the assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, the Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, a barbaric and criminal act and condemned it.
He also congratulated Pezeshkian for his election as the President of Iran and emphasized his country's interest in developing interactions and relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all sectors by taking advantage of the capacities of the two countries.
