Iran Press/Iran news: Special Aide on International Affairs of Iran's Parliament Speaker Hossein Amirabollahian in his latest tweet said: "Bashar Assad is the legitimate president of Syria and he is a great leader of fighting Takfiri terrorism in Arab World. The rumor about Iran-Russia consensus for his resignation is a big lie, an American-Zionist media game.
He emphasized that Iran strongly supports Syrian sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity.
Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011. The Syrian government says the Israeli regime and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri terrorist groups wreaking havoc in the country.
