Iran Press/ Europe: The first trophy of the new season in English football was won by Arsenal, who took the FA Super Cup literally out of hand at Manchester City after a late goal and penalty shoot-out.
In the traditional English overture to the new season, Manchester City and Arsenal competed for the laurels at Wembley. When Cole Palmer put City 1-0 up in the 77th minute, the English champions were on the verge of victory, but Arsenal were lucky to equalize through Leandro Trossard in the dying breaths of marathon stoppage time.
