TEHRAN (IP) - Iran Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi for attending the ministerial meeting of the 8 member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (D-8 Summit) in Egypt, departed Tehran for Cairo on Tuesday evening.

Iran Press/West Asia: Earlier this week, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei, said that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian along with Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi will participate in the D-8 Summit in Egypt on Thursday.

It is the first visit by an Iranian president to Egypt in more than a decade.

Egypt is hosting the summit of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, which also includes Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey.

Iran will discuss regional and bilateral affairs with the participating countries on the sidelines of the summit, Baghaei added.

The D-8 was established in 1997 to improve cooperation between countries stretching from Southeast Asia to Africa.
