The secretary general of the International Islamic Peace Assembly, has emphasized that US human rights is very different to the universal declaration of human rights which the Americans themselves helped to draw up.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday, Davoud Ameri said: "Unfortunately toady there are many different definitions of human right, and there is no one single accepted definition. Many experts have noticed significant differences between "American human rights" and the "universal declaration of human rights."

Ameri added: "It seems that American human rights has its own particular definition, features and characteristics. The Americans who claim to champion human rights, often ignore the yardsticks and the framework of the universal declaration of human rights, which they themselves helped to draw up."

Ameri pointedly added: "The Americans do not comply with their own imperfect version of human rights which is spelled out in the universal declaration of human rights."

The secretary general of the International Islamic Peace Assembly added: "The Americans claim to champion human rights, but they fail to observe even the most basic human rights requirements."

Commenting on the 1988 shooting down of an Iranian passenger flight by a US warship, Davoud Ameri said: "The Americans gave a medal to the Captain of the warship which shot down the Iranian passenger plane -- effectively cocking a snook at international human rights and humanitarian laws."

Ameri added: "They breach human right's ideals when their interests and benefits are in danger, during history the US committed accumulated crimes in Afghanistan, Iraq and all corners of Africa or economic terrorism which targeted Iranians. The Americans have withdrawn from international deals and agreements which they themselves are one of the signatories, but they claim to obey international rules and regulations." 101/211
