Tehran (IP) - The senior Iranian top cleric, a member of Guardian Council, and the Assembly of Experts read the final statement of the ninth session, addressing the negotiating team in Vienna talks.

Iran PressIran news: The ninth official session of the Assembly of Experts in the fifth term was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 8th, 9th, where a statement was issued and read by Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami.

The statement issued on Wednesday said that the members of the Assembly of Experts appreciated the nuclear negotiating team for its efforts and stressed that the primary strategy of the Islamic Republic in nuclear negotiations should be to reduce the people's suffering and try to lift all sanctions.

Still, the statement addressed the Ukrainian crisis, stressing that Iran always opposed the war and did not consider it a solution to the situation.

"Iran considers the provocative actions of the West in extending NATO to Eastern Europe as a violation of the national sovereignty of the countries in this region. In the meantime," it added to say from where the crisis originates, "the unwarranted trust of the Ukrainian authorities in the West and the voluntary disarmament under the pretext of America's absurd guarantees became a lesson for other countries."

The Ukraine war and the deadly silence, indifference, and even cooperation with arrogant countries in launching wars and killings defenseless people of West Asia, especially the oppressed people of Yemen and occupied Palestine, showed the dual standards of the West's approach to the crises, the top cleric read.

The assembly also addressed Afghanistan's issue and said the oppressed people of this Islamic country are a sign of the failure of US aggressive policies in the region: "The position of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the issues of neighboring countries, especially Afghanistan, will be clear and in line with the support of the oppressed and Muslim people of this country. We hope to see a prosperous Afghanistan by forming an inclusive government preserving the rights of all ethnicities and religions."

The statement meanwhile pointed to the last Friday's Takfiri terrorist attack on the Shiite mosque of Peshawar, Pakistan, which led to the martyrdom and injury of a group of people:

"Expressing our condolences to the brothers and sisters of faith, as well as the bereaved injured and survivors of the martyrs of this terrorist operation, and condemning this horrible crime, we call on the Pakistani government to fight terrorism and provide security for its Shiite citizens, especially religious centers. Try to prosecute and punish the perpetrators by investigating the dimensions of this barbaric act."
