Damascus (IP) - The foreign ministers of Iran and Syria discussed the latest security developments in the region and the development of bilateral relations during a meeting in Damascus.

Iran Press/ West Asia: According to the Iran Press news agency, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi met and talked with Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh on his first trip to Damascus as Iran's Foreign Minister this morning (Saturday).

In this meeting, the two ministers discussed ways to expand bilateral relations. They also discussed the latest developments in the region.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Syria also emphasized the need for greater cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels to mobilize international support and solidarity to stop the Israeli regime's genocide in Gaza and its aggressions in Lebanon.

Araghchi arrived in Damascus on Saturday to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations with Syrian officials.

During this visit, Araghchi is scheduled to meet with senior Syrian officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
