Iran Press/Middle East: Syrian authorities open Aleppo airport to civilian flights for the first time in eight years, as the Syrian Army liberated huge swathes of northwestern Syria from the militants this week.
Syrian Transport Minister Ali Hammoud said: "Aleppo International Airport has resumed operations", according to SANA news agency, following its closure in 2012.

Operations were resumed on Wednesday with a flight from the capital Damascus to Aleppo, while another flight from Cairo to the northern Syrian city will take off a few days later.
The announcement comes after the Syrian Army liberated Aleppo province and took control of the M4 and M5 highways in Idlib province, one of them linking Aleppo and Damascus.
