Iran Press/Iran news: In the latest step of US illegal and aggressive policies towards Iran, the country has imposed sanctions on the chief of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, the US Treasury Department said in a statement on Thursday.
AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi dismissed the US sanction on AEOI chief as a "desperate effort" and "without any value".
"The US administration has no place to comment on Iran's obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) after withdrawing from the Iran nuclear agreement", Kamalvand stated.
US President Donald Trump unilaterally pulled out the US from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 and reimposed illegal sanctions on Tehran.
