Iran Press/ Middle East: On the 10th day of Muharram massive crowds of black-clad mourners and pilgrims gathered in the Iraqi city of Karbala, to mourn the martyrdom of Chief of Martyrs, Imam Hussein (AS).
'Tuwairij run' was also observed among the mourners to commemorate the hardship and sorrows of the family and the companions of the third Shi'a Imam,Imam Hossein(AS), reported Iran press.
The word' Tuwairij' means the move which is some thing between walking and running and it is almost done out of anxiety, fear and agitation.It is reminder of the bitter moments that have been experienced by Imam Hossein (AS) and his family members together with his 72 loyal companions.
Muharram mourning ceremonies for the Chief of Martyrs, Aba Abdollah al-Hussein (AS) will be held in the different countries all across the world.
The choice made by Imam Hussein (AS) and his small group of family members and companions (AS) to sacrifice themselves for sake of Allah, has acted as a source of inspiration for not just Muslims but for all of humanity.
