Islamabad (IP) - As Iranians head to the polls for a snap presidential election, polling stations have been set up across Pakistan to allow Iranians to cast their votes.

Iran PressAsia: The central polling station is located at the Iranian Embassy in the federal capital Islamabad, where Ambassador Reza Amiri Mughdam kicked off the voting process by casting his ballot. Iranian diplomats and citizens from Islamabad and Rawalpindi also participated in the election.

Similar arrangements have been made in other provincial centers, with polling stations set up at Iranian consulates in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. In Karachi, two polling stations have been established for the convenience of voters. The voting process will continue until 6:00 pm PST in the designated polling stations.

The snap election, called following the tragic martyr of President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash last month, is being closely watched both within Iran and internationally. The outcome will shape the policies of the Islamic Republic in the years to come.
