In response to the European Union's announcement of new sanctions against specific Iranian individuals and entities, the Hungarian Ambassador in Tehran was summoned by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs.

Iran PressIran news:  The Iranian government voiced its strong opposition to the sanctions, asserting that such measures are unacceptable.

 The recent meeting underscored Iran's dissatisfaction with the EU's decision, highlighting that the imposition of illegal and coercive sanctions would yield no constructive results. Iranian officials reiterated that their defense and military collaborations with other nations are lawful endeavors aimed at safeguarding Iran's national interests and security.

The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that the sanctions imposed on Iranian passenger airlines are a blatant violation of international law, especially concerning fundamental human rights and freedoms, and contradict the EU's stated commitment to human rights.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the EU representative was cautioned against allowing member states to be swayed by anti-Iranian groups, particularly the Israeli regime, and urged to preserve their historical relations with Iran rather than succumb to the adversarial agendas that threaten Iran-EU relations.

Gyula Pethő, the Hungarian Ambassador acknowledged the concerns raised during the meeting and committed to relaying the information to EU authorities, indicating ongoing diplomatic engagement amidst rising tensions.
