Iran Press/Iran news: On the sidelines of Second International Congress on Cardiac Anesthesiology held by Iranian Scientific Society of Cardiac Anesthesia, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Alireza Jahangirifard referred to Iran's congress and said: "The congress has three parts of Cardiac Anesthesia, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and cardiac surgery nursing."
ECMO is a treatment that uses a pump to circulate blood through an artificial lung back into the bloodstream of a very ill baby. This system provides heart-lung bypass support outside of the baby's body.
"In the field of Cardiac Anesthesia, we will talk about this topic. My goal is just to connect with the best foreign and scientific communities and delivering lectures that convey new content," he added.
Referring to the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, the Head of Iran's Scientific Society of Cardiac Anesthesia said: "Given that it is a new science and has been used in Iran for many years, we have been saving the lives of cardiovascular and pulmonary patients. We also decided to hold a congress to give information about this technology. We were able to save the lives of many people in the hospital by this technology."
He concluded that the important sections of this congress are ECMO and cardio surgery nursing.
