Islamabad (IP) - The ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) Tehran, hosted a seminar in Islamabad to aimed at fostering cultural harmony and celebrating the shared heritage of ten members countries of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Iran PressIran news: The seminar was attended by the member counteries diplomats, government officials, and the cultural experts, on Monday at National Library Islamabad on Monday.

The seminar featured an esteemed panel of speakers like Rana Ihsan Afzal the Coordinator to Prime Minister Pakistan, the Cultural Counsellor of Islamic Republic of Iran Majeed Meshki, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Avazbek Atakhanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov, President of ECO Science Foundation Kumail Tayyebi, Saad S Khan the President of the Cultural Institute Tehran and many others.

Addressing the participants, the panelists said that all the ten members of the ECO share the same cultural roots, there are a lot of events and celebrations that these countries witness on same date.The speakers stressed that crucial role of cultural interactions in strengthening ties between ECO members states and urged joint efforts to safeguard diversity, foster mutual understanding and enhance regional collaboration.

Talking to Iran Press, the Cultural Counsellor of Islamic Republic of Iran, Majeed Meshki said that such events are so important to bring the member states closer and to introduce the shared heritage to the rest of the world. He said we have many similarities like celebrating Nowruz, Yalda Night and many others like language and culture.

Praising the wide-spread and shared culture of Grear Persian Empire, Dr. Semina the Chairperson of Pakistan Studies Department in Allama Iqbal University Islamabad said that this was the most important event of our cultural heritage, we have brotherly relations with Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey and all Central Asian states, Pakistan, Iran and Central Asian States have the same cultural heritage and traditions and on religious aspects we believe in Muslim collaboration as well.

Expressing his thoughts with Iran Press, the Coordinator to Prime Minister Pakistan Rana Ihsan Afzal said that we appreciate Iran as the headquarter of the ECO Cultural promotion, this platform has the great potential to enhance the relations among the ECO countries, we have a share culture and the connectivity so a lot of strength exists in these countries and which need to be further explored to strengthen the ties. A documentary was also shown on this occasion based on the research about the cultural ties among the members States. At the conclusion of the seminar souvenirs were presented to the distinguished guests.
