Iran Press/ Middle East: According to Ma'an News Agency, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society confirmed the death of Wissam Abed al-Majid Nayif al-Shalaldeh, 28, from Sair in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, pointing out that the circumstances of his death were not immediately known.
Al-Shalaldeh was detained by Israeli forces in 2015; he was sentenced to seven years of jail.
PPS added that al-Shalaldeh is married and is a father of four.
The Israeli authorities informed al-Shalaldeh's family of his death without providing any further details, requesting the family to arrive at the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute.
PPS held the Israeli authorities entirely responsible for al-Shalaldeh's death, saying that the continuous Israeli crimes against prisoners are the responsibility of the international community that remains silent.
According to PPS, al-Shalaldeh is the fourth prisoner to die in Israeli custody since the beginning of 2018, prisoner Yassin al-Saradih from Jericho was assaulted to death by Israeli forces following his detention on February 22nd, 2018, and prisoner Aziz Eweisat from Jerusalem, who was killed after being assaulted by Israeli "Nahshon" forces inside Israeli jails on May 19th, 2018, in addition to Muhammad Rimawi who was beaten to death during his detention by Israeli forces on September 18, 2018.
PPS added that al-Shalaldeh's death raises the total number of Palestinian prisoners who died in Israeli jails or detention since 1967 to 218.
