Iran's new envoy to Lebanon, Mohammad Jalal Firouznia, has vowed to expand and strengthen political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

Iran's new ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Jalal Firouznia, was welcomed on his arrival on Wednesday morning at  Rafiq Hariri international airport in Beirut, Lebanon. 

Senior Lebanese figures, including speaker of parliament  Nabi Berri , several parliamentarians , and religious leaders were present at the airport to welcome Iran's new ambassador, Firouznia.

Speaking at the airport, Firouznia appreciated the warm welcome he was accorded, and said this signified the deep-rooted and historic ties between Iran and Lebanon.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Firouznia reiterated that all Lebanese groups and factions are welcome to drop in at Iran's embassy in Beirut for discussions and consultations, with Iranian diplomats being  very keen to assist their Lebanese brothers.
