Tehran (IP): Speaker of parliament, Ali Larijani said on Sunday that the Pakistani government should be held responsible for the Zahedan terror attack which was carried out by terrorists based in Pakistan.

Iran Press/Iran newsIran's parliament speaker, Ali Larijani, in Sunday's open session of the Majlis, warned that the Pakistan government should be held responsible for the recent terror attack near Zahedan which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of IRGC border guards. Larijani said the attack was masterminded and carried out by terrorists based in Pakistan.

The top parliamentarian expressed his gratitude to the Iranian people for their magnificent presence in the 11 February national rallies and marches which marked the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Larijani described the massive presence of the Iranian people in the rallies and marches as "A precious phenomenon for sake of Iran's national security and interests which was embodied through people's smart and clever move."

According to an Iran Press report, turning to the Zahedan terror attack, Majlis speaker said this callous attack has left our brothers in Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) martyred, leaving the nation saddened and mournful.

Larijani went on to express his condolences to the families of the martyrs and the people of Isfahan.

Larijani stressed the Pakistani government should be held responsible for the terror attack, because the attack was masterminded and carried out by terrorists based in Pakistan. Larijani went on to ask the Pakistani foreign ministry and security forces to apprehend all those responsible for the attack. He pointedly added: "Pakistan cannot neglect what has happened, and those responsible must be brought to justice."

On February 13, The IRGC statement noted that an explosive-laden car rammed into the bus on the road between the cities of Zahedan and Khash.

The funeral ceremony for IRGC personnel martyred in the suicide terrorist attack in Sistan-Balouchestan province has been held in the city of Isfahan, in central Iran.

The attack happened on a road between the cities of Zahedan and Khash, close to Pakistan, where terrorist groups and drug smugglers operating in the border region are based.

The so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the suicide car bomb attack.

The top commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Mohammad-Ali Jafari has said Iran will definitely retaliate against the terrorists who killed IRGC personnel on Khash-Zahedan road, in Sistan-Balouchestan province in southeastern Iran.
