The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has issued a message of condolence following the martyrdom of a number of IRGC border guards in Wednesday's terrorist attack in Sistan-Balouchestan province.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to an Iran Press report, quoting the Leader of the Islamic Revolution's official website, in a message on Thursday Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of Wednesday's terrorist attack in Sistan-Balouchestan province, urging the security forces and all relevant government departments to carry out a thorough investigation of this attack, and bring to justice all those whose hands are stained with the blood of young IRGC border guards.

The Leader urged the security forces to seriously pursue this case and to bring the perpetrators to book. Ayatollah Khamenei's full message is as follows:

In the name of God, the compassionate, the merciful:

The hands of foreign mercenaries have once again been stained with the blood of our young men, serving their country, and safeguarding Iran's borders. Evil and stone-hearted terrorists have martyred a number of our young men, and it is almost certain that the intelligence agencies of a number of regional and non-regional countries have aided and abetted these terrorists.

Iranian security forces must seriously pursue this case and a thorough investigation must be carried out.

I wish to express my condolences to the families and loved ones of those who have been martyred, to the great family of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and I beseech God to give patience to the families of those martyred, blessings and salvation for those martyred, and a speedy recovery to all those who have been injured in this incident.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)  also needs to look into possible neglection of duties and responsibilities in connection with this incident, and apportion blame if deemed necessary.

Seyyed Ali Khamenei
