Iran Press/Iran news: The head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcraft and Tourism Organization, Ali Asghar Mounesan in an interview with Iran Press said that Iran's tourism industry is flourishing and it is on the up with increasing number of tourists entering the country.
Speaking on the sideline of the 12th edition of the International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries in Tehran, Mounesan added that tourism brings all nations closer together.
The head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcraft and Tourism Organization of Iran pointed out that during the first 9 months of this year, 6 million foreign tourists paid a visit to Iran, with that number increasing all the time.
Mounesaun said he hoped that this trend would continue and that the number of foreign tourists should reach 7 million by the end of this year.
Mounesan added: "Tourism in addition to bringing foreign currency into the country and having economic benefits also has cultural and social benefits for Iran and brings all the nations closer together.
He said that because of Iran's rich civilization, history and culture, any foreign tourist after visiting Iran is won over and on returning to his home country becomes Iran's ambassador, attracting other tourists to Iran.
Mounesan reiterated that the tourism industry is considered very important in the world, and is rapidly developing and growing.
