Iran has unveiled a new generation of Soumar long-range ground-to-ground cruise missile, named Hoveyzeh.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Hoveyzeh missile was showcased on Saturday at Tehran defense show in the presence of Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami.

Iran's Defense Minister said that Iran's achievements in various fields, especially in the field of defense industry and missile technology, despite the imposition of US sanctions, have left the world  astounded and open-mouthed, Iran Press reported.

Defense Minister Hatami highlighted Iran’s self-sufficiency in the military sphere and said the Hoveyzeh missile has been fully designed and manufactured at home by Iranian experts.

Hoveyzeh missile has a range of over 1,350 kilometers, it needs a very short time for its preparedness, can fly at a low altitude, has high precision and accuracy and is capable of heavily destroying ground targets, he added.

On the eve of 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, an exhibition of defense achievements of Iran's armed forces, titled 'Eghtedar 40', has opened to the public at Imam Khomeini's Musalla in central Tehran.

The newest UAV named 'Kaman 12', 'Akhgar' UAV missile, 'Ghassed 3' Cruise missile, and 'Shahin' anti-radar system were also unveiled at the event.

In recent years, Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in manufacturing military equipment and hardware despite sanctions and economic pressures on the country.

The Islamic Republic maintains that its military power poses no threat to other countries, and that Iran's military doctrine is purely defensive and based on the concept of deterrence. 101/211
