Iran Press/Iran news: The second conference of the heads of the Iranian Police Criminal Investigation Department(CID) was held in Tehran on Wednesday 16 January 2019.
Iranian Prosecutor General, Mohammad Jafar Montazeri was the special guest, delivering a keynote speech at the conference.
The Prosecutor General said, thieving had increased in Iran compared to last year.
According to the statistics of the judiciary and the police, unfortunately, robbery is second in terms of crimes in the society,” Montazeri said adding that theft accounted for up to 28 percent of all crimes in Iran.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ General (IRGC) and deputy commander of the Law Enforcement Force of the Islamic Republic, Ayoub Soleimani, also said that there are nearly 200,000 professional thieves and burglars across Iran responsible for 60%-65% of thefts. 101/ 211 / 205
