The Spokesman of Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Ghassemi said that US President Donald Trump just expressed his imaginary wishes by claiming about Tehran's will to negotiate with Washington.

Iran Press/Iran news: Responding to US President Donald Trump's claims about Tehran's will to negotiate with Washington, spokesman of Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Ghassemi said: "He is just talking about his unreal and imaginary wishes."

"Trump did not take lessons from historic events in the past decades and still is following the false policies of his predecessors. But this policy belongs to the medieval era and it does not work today", spokesman of Iranian Foreign Ministry noted according to Iran Press.

"US aggressive policies against Iran have not had any effect on Iranian nation and it will not be effective in the future", Ghassemi said.

Trump claimed on Sunday that the sanctions against Iran were effective and the country wants to negotiate with US.

The Iranian economy, Trump said, has been badly hit due to these sanctions. "They (Iran) are not doing well. They want to talk (with US)," Trump told reporters at the White House.

Last year, The US had withdrawn from the Iranian nuclear deal and over the past several months, the Trump administration has slapped a series of sanctions on Iran. 

Iran has dismissed negotiations with Washington under sanctions and pressures.

Speaking at the large gathering of people in West Azerbaijan province's Khoy city on November 19, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani dismissed US sanctions and said Tehran will never submit to US pressure.
