Iran's ambassador to London, Hamid Baeidinejad has criticised Israel's stranglehold on US foreign policy, saying: "The Israeli regime has taken US foreign policy hostage, thus ensuring its failure in the Middle East and elsewhere."

Iran Press/Iran News: In an interview with Iranian reporters in London on Thursday, Hamid Baeidinejad added: "As long as US foreign policy is a hostage to the Israeli regime, Washington cannot think about establishing constructive relations with regional countries and all its attempts to meddle in the region will again end in failure."

Being heavily influenced by Israeli policies is a problem that has always plagued the United States, he said, adding that every stance or policy that Israelis, with all their extremist views, don't approve of is naturally opposed by the United States as well, Mehr news agency reported.

Commenting further Baeidinejad said: "An independent Iran in the region, has always been opposed to America's arrogant policies and unfortunately, the US failed to consider a new plan for the region, and has disregarded the Iranian nation's independence and sovereignty. Instead of being dominated by the US and Israel, the region now reflects the will of regional countries with their sovereignty and independence", Iran ambassador added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Baeedinejad added that from the standpoint of the Islamic Republic of Iran, America's presence in Syria is by no means the guarantor of peace and stability and eventually, the will of Syrian people to form their favoured government should be officially recognized.

He said: "We should let Syrian people to confront all forms of terrorism, while deciding their fate through holding a national dialogue."   103/ 211 /210
