Iran Press/Iran News: Referring to the role of the axis of resistance in countering the plots and schemes of the enemies in Syria and Yemen, Ali Akbar Velayati said that all the schemes and plots of the arrogant powers and Zionists depended on the collapse of the Syrian government and regime change in Damascus.
According to Iran Press, Ali Akbar Velayati made the remark in an address to an international conference of Iranian and foreign publishers in Tehran on Wednesday.
Velayati added: "The arrogant powers and Zionists want to break-up the geographic and cultural continuity of the axis of resistance, and they want to divide and isolate each member of the axis of resistance, to separate them from each other."
Velayati continued by saying: "With the wise and precautionary steps taken by the leaders of the resistance front, including the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, this wicked plot and conspiracy was scuppered, and the Zionists and arrogant powers, together with the Takfiri extremists who work for them, suffered a very heavy defeat."
"A great victory has been achieved by the axis of resistance, further strengthening the Islamic resistance forces, who are now stronger and more efficient than ever before," the top adviser of Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.
Elsewhere in his remarks Ali Akbar Velayati referred to the heavy responsibility of writers, journalists, media, academics abnd intellectuals who must try to shed light and expose America's plots, conspiracies, duplicity and machinations in the Middle East and North Africa region. 101/211
