Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran's Foreign Minister said despite harm, US sanctions will not change Iran's policies.

Iran news: According to Iran Press, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran's foreign minister said in his recent tweet that "Sanctions have never worked. They hurt ordinary Iranians but don't change policy."

"It was U-turn on part of US which allowed #IranTalks to proceed. Same dynamic today. #Iran and E3+2 are at table. It is US which has decided to walk away and sow violence & chaos." Zarif continued.

Earlier, Zarif told the Doha Forum policy conference in Qatar that US sanctions will have no impact on the policies of the Islamic republic at home or abroad. "If there is an art we have perfected in Iran and can teach to others for a price, it is the art of evading sanctions," he said.

"We've survived against the United States, against the will of the United States for the last 40 years, and I believe we will survive for the next 40 years," the top Iranian diplomat pointed out in the conference.

No reason for negotiation with Trump: Iranian FM

Referring to repeated Trump administration calls for negotiations with Iran, the top Iranian diplomat said: “Iran used to be ready for direct talks with the United States, and we did it, and I spent a lot of time talking with former US Secretary of State John Kerry, the result of that was the nuclear deal, from which Donald Trump pulled out,” but “Negotiating with Donald Trump's government is futile,” Zarif stressed.

On 12 December 2018, Hassan Rouhani, president of Islamic Republic of Iran said: "Sanction is a form of economic and psychological war against Iran."

He went on to refer to the enemies’ attempts to promote Iranophobia, adding, “Cleanness, traffic and architecture in Tehran are very important alongside accommodation for foreign guests.”

US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew Washington from the nuclear agreement in May and reintroduced sanctions on Iran in August.

The US withdrawal was met with worldwide criticism, particularly by other signatories to the international agreement. Britain, France, Russia, China, Germany and the European Union have stressed their compliance with the deal and their support for its proper implementation.  212/211/103
