Iran's top naval commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said that sanctions are not serious and have no effect on Iran's maritime activities.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's top naval commander Rear Admiral Khanzadi said: "We do not take the sanctions seriously because they have no effect on our naval and maritime activities. We produce our own equipment independently, and we instruct and train committed and skillful personnel."

He added: "Considering the maritime and naval activities of Iran, we have been sanctioned for 40 years so it is a kind of a joke for us."

Iran's top naval commander said: "This process has been created with the birth of Islamic revolution and now that we proceed to the 40th anniversary of the revolution, I can say that sanctions have no effect on us."

"Iran's naval power is specifically used for defensive purposes and for defending our maritime borders. We also collaborate with our friends to ensure stability in seas and waterways around this region," Iran's top naval commander said.

"Definitely those countries that are seeking to plunder the wealth of this region, don't like it when they witness Iran's increasing naval power. They cannot achieve their goal of looting the wealth of regional  countries, when Iran's naval power increase more and more," Admiral Khanzadi noted.

In further comments Iran's top naval commander added: "Iran's economy depends on the Sea, so ensuring maritime security and stability of this part of the world, is very important for the country." 

Admiral Khanzadi concluded by saying: "Iran's defensive depth has been widened in recent years. We consolidate our defensive depth by neutralizing the creation of problematic zone in the region. We definitely need to collaborate with different countries in order to secure stability in the international waters."

On 10 November, Iranian Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Ghasem Taghizadeh said that Iran’s defensive power is aimed at establishing and strengthening peace and security in the region. 101/201
