The first Middle East-Europe Forum started its work on Friday, in Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. The scientific gathering is being held at the Kish International Convention centre.

Iran Press/Iran: The three-day event is underway with academics and professors from Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and some Middle Eastern countries attending, according to an IRNA report.

Speaking at the Forum, Vice-Chancellor of Iran University of Medical Sciences in charge of international affairs, Ramin Kordi, said signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with five prestigious universities, creating link among research teams, finding solutions to research problems and strengthening of international cooperation are the objectives of this forum. 

Ramin Kordi added: "Amir Kabir university, Sharif university of technology, Tehran university of medical sciences, Iran university of medical sciences and Tehran university have put on the agenda setting up a consortium and international forum of Middle East and Europe."
