President Hassan Rouhani says Iran's response to any threat will be effective and harsh, but all those who sponsor the terrorists, giving them logistic, intelligence and media support, must be held accountable.

Iran Press/ Iran news:President  Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with interior minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and governor of Khuzestan province, Gholamreza Shariati, following the  terrorist attack in Ahvaz on Saturday morning, ordered the security forces to do all they can to identify the perpetrators of this vile act, and to bring to justice all the terrorists involved in this outrage. 

President Rouhani also enquired about the condition of those injured in this attack, and ordered the best medical care to be provided for the injured victims of Saturday morning's terrorist atrocity, according to the official website of the President of the Islamic Republic.

Talking with interior minister, Rahmani Fazli, and Khuzestan governor general, Gholamreza Shariati, the president was briefed on the latest situation in Ahvaz (also written Ahwaz) , the capital of Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran.

President Rouhani emphasized that Iran's response to the terror outrage would be decisive and tough, and that all those responsible for this reprehensible act of terror should be tried in a court of law and punished. He also said those who back the terrorists with intelligence and logistic support must also be held to account. 

During the phone calls, president Rouhani prayed for the martyrs of the terrorist atrocity and expressed his sympathy and condolence for the families of the victims and those martyred. He also ordered all facilities to be used to care for those injured.

President Rouhani also issued the necessary instructions to the ministry of intelligence, ordering all security and military forces to quickly identify the terrorists and their communication lines, and to deal resolutely and decisively with the perpetrators of this sickening act of terrorism.

Gunmen opened fire on people from behind a viewing stand during  a Saturday morning parade in Ahvaz. 15 deaths have been officially confirmed. Dozens more were injured.
