In response to French FM, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman stressed that the defensive missile program of Iran is not debatable under any conditions.

Iran PressIran: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said "the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated its clear and transparent stance on unwarranted concerns and misunderstandings and ignorance of some countries" about its defensive missile program.

"The JCPOA (nuclear deal) negotiations that led to a strong and international agreement reflected Iran's goodwill and adherence to the principle of dialogue, and efforts to utilize rational and peaceful methods that could provide a sound and wise basis for measuring Western countries goodwill and adherence to their obligations, but with the unilateral withdrawal of one of the most hawkish, … claimants [Trump], and the weakness and laxity of others [Europeans], they left an unacceptable record,” he asserted.

The foreign ministry spokesman stated that "the Islamic Republic of Iran has always shown that it is not afraid of dialogue and negotiation and believes it, but while the results of Iran's all efforts and other global powers are frustrated by the bullying and excesses of some of the French partners and their inability [to confront him], European politicians have so far only declared political positions and repeated them, and have not been able to provide the necessary guarantees and take significant steps to secure an international agreement - which is considered to be the most important achievement of diplomacy in the present era- there is no other reason, necessity, credibility or trust in negotiations for non-negotiable issues."

"The French foreign minister knows that under these conditions and in accordance with their previous commitments, there is no way but fulfilling their obligations, and Iranians have no way to trust them as long as they do not fulfill their obligations", Ghasemi emphasized.

Qasemi stressed that: "The worlds and French politicians are well aware that the regional policy of Iran is for regional and international peace and security and the fight against terrorism and extremism, and if this policy does not satisfy some countries that are basically the creator of tensions and crises of the region, they can correct their policies."

Speaking at a meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Vienna on Thursday, Jean-Yves Le Drian, France foreign minister said: "Iran must respect the fundamentals of the JCPOA and I think that is the case, but Iran cannot avoid discussions, negotiations on three other major subjects that worry us", PressTV reported.

Part of the US illegitimate sanctions were imposed on Iran on August 9. Trump also said he would reinstate the US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.

Last month US Secretary of State talked about  a "maximum pressure campaign" targeting Iran that will support protests in this country.

Pompeo along with US national security adviser, John Bolton has been a vocal critic of the Iran and the internationally negotiated Iran nuclear deal of 2015 and advocated immediate regime change.
