Iran press/Iran- According to Iran’s agreement with the United States in 1950s, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi said, a lawsuit has been filed at the International Court of Justice against the country, and based on the treaty, re-enforcing sanctions is against the Law.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs asserted that The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has earned the Islamic Republic of Iran the title of a powerful country in international and regional arenas, adding "US pressures against Iran is because of the power of the country; if we were not strong, there was no such pressure on us.”

The International Court of Justice to hear Iran lawsuit against renewed sanctions imposed by the United States on Monday.

"Our policy is establishing all-encompassing ties with the East and the West; except for one or two countries, we have relations with all the countries; to counteract US efforts to confront Iran, we also need to take a global move against US policies and establish special interactions with the world,” Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi said, referring to Leader’s remarks in a meeting with the ambassadors and foreign ministry officials.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi, stressing that The Hague’s ruling is not legally binding, said Iran’s complaint against US was simply aimed at proving our legitimacy to the international community.

The lawsuit said that the US “is besieging Iran economically, with all the dramatic consequences that a siege implies for the besieged population.”

On May 8, US President Donald Trump pulled the US out of the The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Tehran and the world powers in 2015.

Washington has since told countries they must stop buying the OPEC producer's oil from November 4 or face financial consequences.
