Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif received the new ambassador of Pakistan Riffat Masood on Tuesday. Pakistan's new ambassador submitted a copy of his credentials to foreign minister Zarif.

According to Iran Press, Masood is the first female Pakistani envoy to Iran. She replaces Asif Ali Khan Durrani, as Pakistan's ambassador to Tehran.

She has already served as Pakistan's envoy to Norway.

She has also had diplomatic posts in England, Germany, Turkey and France, according to IRNA.
