The head of the ICT Guild organization of Iran, Mohammad Baqer Asna-Ashari , has said 'a digital revolution' is underway in Iran, with very high speed internet links, significant increase in bandwidth, and emergence of e-commerce and internet companies.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Saturday, the head of the ICT Guild organization, Mohammad Baqer Asna-Ashari said this revolution is expanding with government backing. The Iranian government actively supports electronic telecommunications, e-commerce, and internet companies.

He added:  "This is why we have decided the theme of this year's exhibition to be "digital economy, Iran's capabilities".

In further comments Asna-Ashari said:  "In a year where we are facing sanctions-related problems , fortunately, this year's ELECOMP 2018 has expanded and is being held under excellent conditions right now !  As far as start-up businesses are concerned, we have five large halls devoted to them in total."
