Demonstrators chanted slogans demanding the release of the imprisoned Catalan leaders. They also chanted anti-police slogans, and police officers responded by trying to clear the street.
The protest started earlier in the day at Sants Estancio railway station where hundreds of demonstrators attempted to disrupt train services.
Reportedly, at least two people were arrested and several were injured.
