Iran Press/Iran news: Upon arrival at Shahid Madani Airport, Rouhani was welcomed to the province by Leader’s Representative to East Azerbaijan Province, Governor-General and other local officials.
"One of the goals of this visit is to visit and evaluate the process of providing aid and rebuilding the earthquake-hit areas of the province," Rouhani said at the airport according to the president's website.
Opening Mianeh-Bostan Abad Railway, visiting and opening a number of service and developmental projects, as well as attending the session of the Administrative Council of the province are on Rouhani’s agenda during his one-day visit to East Azerbaijan.
The president said the inauguration of the Mianeh-Bostan Abad Railway is one of the goals of the visit and said, "This railway is a very important project and one of the demands of the people of the province that will be inaugurated during this visit".
Rouhani added, "In the course of this visit, we will also evaluate the measures taken and the process of projects since the government’s last visit to the province." 101
