Tehran (IP) - An expert on Middle East affairs has said there are many different aspects to the recent protests and unrest in Iraq but it can be viewed from the point-of-view of the domestic demands of the Iraqis as well as from the point-of-view of a foreign-orchestrated plot.

Iran Press/Iran News: Alireza Eshraqi, a senior Middle East expert in an interview with Iran Press on Wednesday, referred to the root causes of recent protests in some Iraqi cities and added, "On the case of Iraq, the problem is not confined to domestic issues, and on the other hand, it should not merely be limited to external factors too. It should be analyzed carefully and precisely."

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said on Sunday in an exclusive interview with Iran press news agency that foreigners would better not covet the latest developments in Iraq for they (the Iraqis) have their own demands which have been heard by their governments and the officials are trying to meet their demands as soon as possible.

Iraq witnessed protests in recent days about the inadequate public service situation, lack of job opportunities and corruption, but these protests have turned violent and have killed and injured dozens. 101/211/205
