Iran nuclear activity, transparent: Kazem Gharibabadi

Iran's ambassador to the international organisations in Vienna, speaking at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has talked of the close cooperation between Iran and the Agency, emphasising that Iran's nuclear activities are completely transparent and that Iran has no hidden nuclear activities of any kind.

Iran Press/Iran news: Stressing the close cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the Vienna-based international organizations Kazem Gharibabadi warned about some countries trying to spoil the positive collaboration between the Islamic Republic and the Agency.

Gharibabadi referred to recent pressure by the US and Israeli regimes on the IAEA, trying to scupper the Iran nuclear deal (also called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)) as a symbol of multilateralism, and trying to divert world public opinion, saying: "Iran is not affected by such propaganda, and will follow the reduction of its commitments to the JCPOA after a 60-day window of opportunity," Iran Press reported.

Urging all signatories to the deal to fulfil their commitments, Gharibabadi said Iran is ready to continue its discussions and dialogue with the remaining parties to the JCPOA and return to the full implementation of its commitment under the JCPOA if the remaining parties do the same.

Tehran announced the third phase of its incremental nuclear countermeasures on 6 September, as Europe failed to live up to its promises and failed to shield Iran from the effects of US unilateral sanctions, but gave the Europeans more time to save the landmark nuclear deal. 101/211/215
