Tehran (IP) –Iran's First Vice President told reporters on Wednesday that the US Government sanctioning of Foreign Minister Zarif is a very unusual and unorthodox move, with no explanation, wisdom or logic behind it.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's First Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri said the sanctioning of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is a very unorthodox move by the Americans. Jahangiri also called it a preposterous act which lacks logic and wisdom.

Calling Zarif an active and accomplished diplomat who is a knowledgeable and highly effective in diplmacy and the political arena, Jahangiri went on to refer to US President Doland Trump's admission that Zarif was a capable diplomat, very persuasive, knowledgeable, effective, and that the Americans could not sideline him in the nuclear negotiations, and that he could not be outmanoeuvred either.

According to an Iran Press report, Jahangiri also pointed to US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo's latest remarks during which he described Zarif as a decent and polite man who also appreciates morality.

Furthermore, describing Zarif as the eloquent tongue of the Islamic Republic of Iran in today' critical period, Iran's first vice president highlighted that those who are seeking to sit at the negotiation table, [should know that] the main route for talks with Iran will be the foreign ministry and Iran' s foreign minister in particular.

Es'haq Jahangiri stressed that despite imposing sanctions on Zarif, powerful Iran will never let anyone weaken its position at the UN. 

Expressing hope that there will be no problem experienced by Iranian delegations upon their arrival at the UN, especially Iran's foreign minister, Jahangiri concluded that nevertheless one can expect any action from the unpredictable Americans.   101/211/203
